The former president charged an Australian reporter of "damaging Australia" subsequent to being questioned concerning his business dealings throughout occupying the presidency.

Trump faced a question from a reporter representing the Australian Broadcasting Corporation regarding to what extent more affluent his net worth increased following returning to the White House this year.

"I am not certain," Trump answered, stating his offspring oversaw the Trump enterprises. "From my perspective, you are harming Australia significantly at this moment, Australia aim to maintain good relations with me."

The president mentioned that he was going to be meeting the leader of Australia Anthony Albanese "very soon", commenting: "I will let him know concerning your behavior. You create an unfavorable atmosphere."

As the journalist sought to pose another query, the president placed his index finger to signal quiet then saying "quiet" before moved away to speak with a different journalist.

Over recent months, the leader has been attempting to secure a discussion alongside the US president following scheduled discussions between the pair got called off abruptly after Trump left the global conference earlier this year ahead of schedule to deal with hostilities in that region.

The Australian leader – and he will be in America for the international summit next week – stated on ABC radio on Monday that both leaders would "see each other at the event".

"He's hosting a reception on Tuesday night. And as well, we'll see both during multiple events scheduled from now until December."

In recent months, US-Australia relations have become tense since the Trump administration disclosed an assessment of the Aukus pact, an important naval arrangement valued at £176bn among Australia, the US and the UK that was agreed upon three years ago.

Earlier this year, the country was also subjected to a tariff no less than ten percent on every products sold to the US, a move that the PM said being "not the act of a friend".

Lyons remarked after the brief response from the leader calling it an "absurd notion" that asking valid questions respectfully would hurt ties among the historic partners.

"Personally, I felt it was a routine thing to do to raise points which I believe were provocative," he told the broadcaster, stating his enquiries were reasonable, grounded in findings without being delivered with a hostile tone.

The network stated the queries were included in research by their news segment reviewing Trump's corporate ventures after returning to office.
