Heartbroken Isn't the Word - Campbell Hatton Pays Heartfelt Tribute
The boxing legend's son Campbell shared that his pain goes beyond description as he offered an emotional tribute to his parent.
One-time world champion the boxer passed away at his residence in Hyde on Sunday.
Police confirmed there were zero unusual circumstances related to the middle-aged athlete's death.
In his first public message since the incident, Campbell posted a collection of pictures on Instagram on Tuesday and wrote: "This loss is beyond expression.
"People has always told me I was your twin - not once a honest word said. Looked up to you in all areas of life.
"Hard to put into words how much I'm going to miss the good times we had and all the memories, which I will remember forever. Just can't believe we won't have any more. Miss you, Dad."
Professional Career
The athlete achieved victory in 45 of his 48 career fights during a 15-year boxing journey, and was world champion at 140-pound and 147-pound divisions. He most recent match professionally in 2012, though had planned to make a comeback into the arena in October.
Known as 'Hitman', he established himself as a hugely popular fighter with personality inside and outside the ring - an estimated 30,000 fans journeyed to watch his main event against the legendary Floyd Mayweather in Sin City in 2007.
His son was too a athlete and won his first 14 professional fights. He retired in 2025.
Loved Ones Response
Hatton's family shared a statement on the following day in which they spoke of the flood of support and condolences towards him.
"He had a heart as large as his grin, and his compassion, wit and dedication impacted everyone who was lucky enough to know him," the statement read.
