A top Russian General Dies in Moscow Blast, Officials State.

A senior Russian military figure has been declared dead following an detonation in Moscow, according to an investigative body.
The attack took place on Monday morning when an IED placed beneath a vehicle exploded, causing the death of Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov.
Sarvarov was the head of the armed forces' unit responsible for operational readiness.
Authorities indicated that one theory under investigation involves the potential involvement of Ukrainian intelligence services. To date, Ukraine has remained silent.
Site of the Incident
Teams have been are examining the scene, which is said to be in a south district of the metropolis.
Reports state the explosion took place in a car park near a residential building.
Series of Targeted Attacks
Since the start of the extensive conflict in Ukraine, a series of Russian military officials have been subjected to assaults within Moscow.
This new event comes after other serious incidents, for instance:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was died in a automobile blast in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov died in late 2024 when a bomb hidden on a scooter was detonated remotely.
While a Ukrainian source earlier attributed Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such assertions are not formally acknowledged as a matter of official stance.
Hostilities has increasingly seen clandestine operations extending into the heart of the Russian capital.
The probe into General Sarvarov's death continues to be underway.
